Abstract

Solar energy is one of the most promising sources of renewable energy due to its abundance and
sustainability. However, enhancing the efficiency of solar cells has been a significant challenge.
Recent advancements in material science, particularly in the design and fabrication of
nanostructured materials, have opened new possibilities for improving solar cell performance.
This paper discusses the role of advanced materials, especially nanostructures, in enhancing solar
cell efficiency. We review key nanomaterials such as quantum dots, nanowires, and plasmonic
nanostructures, exploring their applications in solar cells, their impact on light absorption, charge
transport, and overall efficiency. Moreover, the challenges and future directions for integrating
nanomaterials into large-scale photovoltaic devices are also discussed.
