Abstract

Autonomous vehicles (AVs) are emerging as a transformative technology in the transportation
sector. The safety and reliability of AVs depend on real-time data exchange between vehicles,
infrastructure, and cloud-based systems. However, this data exchange is highly vulnerable to
cyber-attacks, which can compromise both the safety and efficiency of AV systems. Blockchain
technology, with its inherent characteristics of decentralization, immutability, and transparency,
offers a promising solution to enhance the security of data transmission in AV systems. This
paper explores the application of blockchain technology in secure data transmission for
autonomous vehicles, analyzing its potential benefits, challenges, and future directions. Through
an exploration of relevant literature, we aim to provide a comprehensive understanding of how
blockchain can address the security concerns in the evolving landscape of autonomous vehicle
technologies.
